Privacy Policy for Hafta

Hafta is a Chrome extension for Pakistan-focused week planning, Hijri dates, prayer times, holidays, school breaks, and fiscal-year information. This policy explains what the extension handles and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
Hafta does not collect personal information for the developer. It has no Hafta account, analytics, advertising, telemetry, or developer-operated data collection server.
2. Information Stored in Chrome
Hafta stores the preferences needed to provide its features, such as your selected city and region, Asr method, Hijri adjustment, badge format, theme, reminder choices, manually confirmed dates, and optional date-feed settings. These preferences use Chrome's sync storage and may be synchronized by Google through a Chrome profile when browser sync is enabled.
Downloaded date-feed data, reminder history, and any custom reminder sound you choose are kept in Chrome's local extension storage. This information is not sent to the developer.
3. Local Processing
ISO week numbers, Hijri date estimates, prayer times, built-in holidays, typical school breaks, and fiscal-year information are calculated or read locally by the extension. Hafta does not read the content of webpages you visit.
4. Optional Date Feed and Network Access
Hafta's core features work without network access. If you choose to enable a confirmed-dates feed, Chrome asks you to approve access to the HTTPS website you entered. Hafta then requests that feed, without credentials, to download and locally store its calendar updates.
The feed provider may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser request metadata under that provider's own privacy policy. The developer does not receive the feed request or its contents. Disabling the feed removes its downloaded copy from Hafta's local storage.
5. Permissions
Hafta uses Chrome storage to save settings and local feature data; alarms to schedule updates and reminders; notifications to show reminders you enable; and an offscreen document to play an optional reminder sound. Website access is optional and requested only for a date-feed source you select.
6. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information. Hafta contains no ad network or third-party analytics SDK.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Settings and local feature data remain in Chrome storage until you reset the relevant settings, disable the optional feed, remove stored custom audio, clear extension data, or uninstall Hafta. Data synchronized by Chrome is controlled through your Google Chrome sync settings.
8. Security
Hafta limits network access to an optional source you approve and validates downloaded feed data before using it. No software can guarantee absolute security, so only use a date-feed source you trust.
9. Children's Privacy
Hafta is a general-purpose calendar tool and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if Hafta's features or data practices change. The current version will be published here with a revised “Last updated” date.
