Why fast websites make more money

Every second your website takes to load, you lose people. That's not a slogan — it's what the data consistently shows: as load time climbs, bounce rate climbs with it, and conversions fall. A slow site is a leak in the bottom of the bucket, and no amount of ad spend at the top fixes a leaky bucket.

Speed helps you twice over. Google uses page speed and Core Web Vitals as ranking signals, so a fast site is easier to find in the first place. And once someone lands, a quick, responsive experience builds the trust that makes them act. Slow feels cheap; fast feels professional — even before anyone reads a word.

The good news is that speed is buildable. Clean code, right-sized images, sensible caching, and infrastructure tuned for the job routinely take a sluggish site under two seconds. That's why I treat 90+ PageSpeed as a standard, not a stretch goal. Fast isn't the finish line — it's the floor.
