Grew from software developer to backend & DevOps engineer — building booking engines, payment workflows, and APIs in Laravel, PHP and Python, and standing up CI/CD pipelines on AWS.
The role
My time at Dixeam is where I grew from a software developer into a backend and DevOps engineer. Over nearly four years I worked across the full software development lifecycle — from conception to deployment — building solutions for clients in e-commerce, healthcare, travel, and finance.
What I built
I led development on booking engines with real-time availability and secure payment workflows, designed and optimised databases across MySQL and ElasticSearch, and built clean RESTful APIs in Laravel, PHP, and Python. As the work matured, I stood up CI/CD pipelines on AWS so the team could deploy reliably and often. I also handled rigorous testing and debugging to keep everything secure and scalable.
